Hercules – Carol Leonard

Dogs and horses have always been a part of my life. 13 years ago we adopted a stray Coonhound puppy who developed an occasional limp. After examination and x-rays the vet couldn’t find a cause but the limp persisted. Then a friend told me about Dr. Heidi. After a couple of adjustments, the limp was gone. Since then my animals have seen Dr. Heidi for chiropractic care. In that time she has kept my dogs and horses happy and comfortable with periodic adjustments. Dr. Heidi has also helped me learn to “listen” to my animals and I can tell when they need me to schedule a visit.

A good example is Hercules, my 6 year old Golden Retriever-Bassett Hound mix. He loves to run but I noticed that all of a sudden he wouldn’t do more than trot. My first thought was that he was getting older but I had Dr. Heidi check him and sure enough, his back and hips were out of alignment. With one adjustment he was back happily running the pasture with his pal Stonewall.

Until recently I kept my horses at a large boarding stable. That gave me a chance to watch Dr. Heidi with other animals. Many were tentative at first but with skill and patience Dr. Heidi would adjust them and you could almost hear the sighs of relief. After a few visits the animals would recognize Dr. Heidi and cooperate willingly. I now have my own little farm near Dr. Heidi so my dogs and horses continue to benefit from regular chiropractic care. I know some people look at me funny when I mention the animal chiropractor but my only regret is that I didn’t meet Dr. Heidi sooner. I’m sure my critters would agree!

Dr Heidi first came to see horses in our barn in 2002. I was very impressed with her quiet, but knowledgeable approach to the animals. When I learned that she had been a horse trainer before becoming a Human Chiropractor, it made perfect sense. She has since adjusted many of our horses, as well as our dogs and they all feel much better after being “fixed”.

Since then I have come to know Dr. Heidi as much more than a very competent Chiropractor. I had the privilege of doing photography at Options for Animals, Dr. Heidi’s College of Animal Chiropractic in Kansas. There I learned that she is an excellent instructor to the students, with an articulate and fascinating way of teaching. Her keen sense of humor kept everyone learning and having fun!

She has an amazing amount of knowledge about anatomy, and a gentle, very caring way of dealing with animals and people.
I can’t possibly say all the good things about Heidi that she deserves but I can tell you that if you want the best for your horses and dogs…do call Dr. Heidi Bockhold!

Sincerely,
Chris Sartre

I have been using Dr. Heidi for over 10 years now. I am a firm believer in Chiropractic care for the equine athlete. I have had horses that have come up with all kinds of problems that the vet could not pinpoint and was resolved with adjustments. I have had horses not wanting to do lateral movements, along with all kinds of lameness issues to stallions having problems in the breeding shed. My business is a full service dressage training facility and Georgia’s full service stallion and mare station. Our horses have to feel good to perform to their fullest. Dr. Heidi keeps our horses performing to their fullest.
